Attenuator SC/UPC and FC/UPC
Attenuator is an electronic circuit that has a function to reduce the electrical signal from the output of a circuit. Apart from being an attenuator, an attenuator can also be used as an impedance adjuster. Because it can function as an impedance, the attenuator always follows changes in the magnitude of the output impedance.
Features
- Attenuators are used as volume control equipment in broadcasting stations
- For testing purposes in the laboratory, to obtain a smaller voltage signal, an attenuator is used
- Fixed attenuators are used to improve impedance matching in circuits
- To protect the circuit from damage caused by high voltage values
- Optical attenuator is applied in fiber optic communication to match the transmitter and receiver levels
